LEGACIES OVERVIEW

RGS has a long history to be exceptionally proud of. It is not without help from significant benefactors that the School stands today on its current site overlooking Wycombe.

The first instance of a legacy being left to RGS dates back to the nineteenth century, when Mary Bowden left £1000 to be invested in the support of 30 boys at the School. Late nineteenth century school fees started at an annual rate of £7 7s for boys over the age of 12. Board and lodging was extra. Because of Mary’s foresight in leaving a legacy to the School, a significant number of local pupils received an RGS education.

Leaving a legacy to RGS in your Will opens up the possibility for you to become one of the School’s major benefactors; joining Mary in her ability to continue to support the pupils and activities of RGS for years to come.

1562 CLUB

Legacies are a very personal matter and you are under no obligation to disclose whether you have included RGS as a beneficiary or not. However, the school would like to demonstrate our gratitude during your lifetime and will shortly be setting up the 1562 Club to bring together those who choose to remember RGS through a legacy.
