The Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, is a selective state school for boys with a Sixth Form of approximately 400. Our school policy is for students to study a minimum of four subjects in Year 12 in order to enrich their knowledge, develop their skills and properly access subjects they are not familiar with at GCSE level. In addition, they may also opt to study the EPQ or a new language as a 5th subject. The majority then study three subjects in Year 13 to full A level with 25% continuing to study four.
All boys also work towards the RGS Gold Award which demonstrates exemplary engagement in co-curricular, volunteering and leadership activities over an 18 month period.
In May/June 2017 students sat AS levels in legacy subjects only (Maths, Ancient History, Design Technology). Our predicted grades are based on their performance during their time in the Sixth Form to date and most particularly on the results they gained in the Year 12 end of year school exams in the linear subjects. These exams took place at the same time as the external AS exams.
