The Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, is a selective state school for boys with a Sixth Form of approximately 400. Our school policy is for students to study four subjects in Year 12 in order to enrich their knowledge, develop their skills and properly access subjects they are not familiar with at GCSE. They may also opt to study the EPQ or a new language as a 5th subject. The majority then study three subjects in Year 13 to full A level, 25% continue with four.
In May/June 2016 students sat AS levels in legacy subjects only. Our predicted grades are based on their performance during their time in the Sixth Form to date and most particularly on the results they gained in school exams in the linear subjects. These took place at the same time as the external legacy AS exams.
