Higher Education & Careers
Life after RGS usually starts with university although some of our leavers join apprenticeships or companies' school leavers programmes. All our Sixth Formers qualify for Higher Education, with many off to Oxford and Cambridge every year. The RGS has excellent links with a variety of Higher Education Institutions.
University offers the boys a fantastic opportunity to develop as young men, through independence and new experiences shared with other students. It is the foundation for many Old Boys to enter a career with leading international companies with which, as a School, we share strong links, either through parents, School Governors, or other Old Boys.
We value continued association with former students, known as Old Wycombiensians. There is an active OW club which organises an Annual Dinner and sporting fixtures, whilst regular newsletters keep OW’s informed of life and developments at RGS.
In addition the School welcomes visits from OWs. Many regularly support the school by, for example, giving careers talks, coaching sports teams, attending dinners, speaking at Prize Givings or being a School Governor.
Old Boys of RGS have achieved national recognition not only in sporting arenas but also in the Arts, the musical world, Law and in academic fields. We are immensely proud of these achievements and in return Old Wycombiensians have a real affection for the school.
In this section you can find information about where our pupils go after RGS and useful dates and information about Work Experience and Careers. This advice is provided through timetabled lessons as well as drop-in information sessions.
