Design Technology

DT is an enjoyable subject because of its practical nature and its problem solving. This is different to many subjects in school. When designing products, you can then let your creativity flow and think of the best options to solve your chosen problem. In Year 10 we were tasked to make sweet dispensers and I thoroughly enjoyed drawing out possible designs to suit the many problems, which included portion sizes and colour schemes for the product. These are just two examples of what you need to think about and when you come to your final design, you can compare it with your colleagues in your class and see how they arose to the problem. This is the most enjoyable part of DT because everyone has their own ideas and can test them and give their views about why they think their design is the best.
