The King’s Trust (formerly the Prince’s Trust) is one of the nation’s most inspiring organisations for young talent, having created 125,000 entrepreneurs and provided business support for almost 400,000 more. Its ambitious and innovative approach as an organisation, constantly evolves and seeks new ways to provide even better support to our young people.

Our aim at RGS is no different and aims to equip our students with the necessary skills to be employable, to succeed and to be personally fulfilled. In 2023, 18 boys were offered unconditional offers at Oxbridge, 22 accepted a place to study Medicine, 67% went on to attend Russell Group universities and 129 different courses were studied.

Here at RGS Careers, students of all ages are given the essential skills, knowledge, and experience to conquer their futures, whether through workshops, work placements, university and apprenticeship guidance, vital financial literacy, and crucial employability skills.

This academic year, they have provided career guidance, hosting career assemblies, weekly 'Tuesday Talks' across various industries and pathways, Enterprise Days, and skills-building events. In addition, students have benefited from mock interview practice and extensive work experience opportunities, all contributing to their real-world readiness and essential skill development.

Recently, Year 9 were given the opportunity to try a mix of activities to develop their skills and confidence, ranging from outdoor skills building, public speaking and a STEM workshop to preparing for university and essential financial literary skills. Hear about all this and students' careers achievements in the next RGS Careers Newsletter coming on 11th July.
