Prize Giving 2021
As many of you know, Prize Giving is usually an exclusive event, limited by the size of our Queen’s Hall and open only to the prize winners and their families. This year, however, our virtual Prize Giving will go live via a link on the School’s website (www.rgshw.com) at 7.30pm and will be accessible to everyone in the School community. Highlights of the event will also be available on Instagram, RGS High Wycombe, which are launching to celebrate the event. There will be no access before RGS opens its Prize Giving doors at 7.30pm!
Virtual Prize Giving will follow a similar format to the usual physical event. Besides a welcome from the Chair of Governors, there will be an address by the Headmaster, in which he will reflect on the successes of our students over the past year, and a speech by our guest speaker, Fergus Walsh, RGS alumni. After gaining a degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds, Fergus began working for the BBC as a local radio reporter and then as a producer in national radio news. In 1988, he was appointed Home & Legal Affairs Correspondent and became the Medical Correspondent in 2004. In addition to this, there will be music and the traditional Vote of Thanks delivered by our newly-appointed Head Boy.
As we near the end of a challenging but rewarding year I do hope you will take this opportunity to celebrate not only our prize winners, but also the success and resilience of the School as a community.
We look forward to ‘seeing’ you this evening.
