Staff and pupils at the Royal Grammar School were delighted with another excellent set of A Level results with three quarters of the grades being awarded at A*-B and almost half being at A* to A with an overall pass rate for the school of 100%. These results will enable most of our boys to attend their university of choice.

Amongst the superb set of personal achievements, fifteen boys achieved all A* grades - seven of these achieving four A* grades. The results of our Boarders were particularly outstanding, with 86% of all grades at A*-B and 60% at A* and A.

Headmaster Philip Wayne said of the results: “This pleasing set of results is testament to the hard work of our pupils, the encouraging support of their families and our staff.  It also gives me a very firm foundation on which to take RGS into the future.  The school takes great pride in a Sixth Form ethos of independent learning, where pupils are encouraged to study beyond the syllabus to develop a strong subject knowledge from which to call upon.  These results mark the culmination of rigorous learning and revision for RGS boys and I have no doubt that the personal successes of our pupils will carry them forward into successful futures.  My personal congratulations to every pupil who received results.”
